We would like to provide information regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and what we are doing in response, and how it will affect our events.
Our first priority is the safety of our partners and event attendees. As such, we have made the decision to cancel our D&I: The UnConference events in Toronto (both dates), Mississauga, and Montreal, and to postpone our spring 2020 Community of Practice events. We are in the process of developing virtual programming to help offset the loss of these events. Additional information will be communicated at a later date.
We remain committed to helping you advance diversity and inclusion in Canada, and look forward to welcoming you back to our in person events as soon as possible.
About COVID-19
The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for Canada. Public health risk is continually reassessed as new information becomes available. We encourage you to visit https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection.html regularly for updates from the Government of Canada. Although China remains the epicentre of the COVID-19 outbreak, more countries are reporting cases. While the risk to Canadians is still low, it is important to be prepared at the individual and community level for all possible scenarios.
In general, the following advice can help reduce the risk of infection or spreading infection to others:
