Miriam Chiasson (She, her)

Manager and Team Lead, Learning and Knowledge Solutions

Miriam is originally from Montreal, QC, and has Acadian roots. She now lives in Dieppe, New Brunswick. She has been part of the CCDI family since 2021, and has joined the Learning and Knowledge Solutions department as CCIP program manager in 2022. Miriam oversees the administration of the CCIP program, with the goal of offering a highly-regarded certification and to support the important work of diversity and inclusion professionals, who contribute to improving Canadian workplaces for all.

Her librarianship experience brings her many skills, such as research, community outreach, and facilitation. Her interest in diversity and inclusion stems from her post-secondary studies in history and anthropology. Her areas of expertise include inclusive language in English and in French, inclusion of persons with disabilities, and cultural competences. Her friendly and open presentation style is often appreciated among participants to her training sessions, where she encourages meaningful and brave conversations.

In her free time, Miriam runs a small online shop and volunteers with a cat rescue, having fostered over 30 cats in need so far (but not all at the same time!).
